We are back in Cambridge with our Virtual Reality Setup
Unveiling Nanome VR to a group of entrepreneurs and scientists at Lab Central
This project was sponsored by Calvert Labs in conjunction with Lab Central, “A LAUNCHPAD FOR HIGH‑POTENTIAL LIFE‑SCIENCES STARTUPS”, located in the heart of the worlds pharmaceutical hub. Our project was to highlight the power of possibilities for collaboration in virtual reality drug research. We showed scientists that you can load up chemicals, compounds, and proteins from many different online databases. This software is able to allow a live studio classroom that can be accessed from all over the world, either with a virtual reality headset or on a 2d workspace. Users can run simulations and can measure and build different compounds. The software is fairly new and under development.
Our project was to develop a way to display this virtual reality rental at a mixer lunch event. We tapped into the existing AV setup at Lab Central and also created some light gobos for the wall. When the event was over, we had a chance to showcase some other interesting software on the HTC Vive to some presidents of these companies including Google Earth VR and Google Tilt Brush, an open world map in VR and a state-of-the-art digital drawing software.
In closing comments, we had an exciting time delivering this virtual experience, and we thank Lab Central and Calvert Labs for a momentous day highlighting this future technology.
