3d design for ICU Bed Bug Detection

3D Graphic Design for Bed Bug Detection Spray

Digital sketching and 3d modeling to construct the right bed bug logo.

I can confirm that they are truly gross, I studied them for a week. I started this project by downloading images and reading about bed bugs, then I sketched them out. I learned their anatomy, and then I created a low polygon model of a bed bug to start positioning the creature in 3d space. Then it was time to discover how to represent the ICU concept. I went with your standard approach first. “I see you” In graphic terms. You can see the first design iteration below in *pdf format.

After some good feedback I went into 3d software and began to model the logo. I created the text in 3d, then the eyeball, and I used my initial model of a bed bug. We moved the camera around and took a bunch of shots within the software.  We ended up going with the hairy, grossest version of the logo. I included some of the simpler logos that I liked more visually speaking. This product is now being sold on Amazon, and is a licensed product. I also think it is neat to have a box of these kits in my closet in case I am traveling.  I have included a few images just so you can see the process.
